As many of you already know, my grandfather, whom I never met, was a United States Marine. He did not die while serving our great country, but he was a very brave man who served during World War II and beyond.
This is a photo of him and my very young dad. Though he did not pass away in the line of duty, I think of him each year on Memorial Day. I am so thankful to him and others, past and present, whose courage and bravery have enabled me to live a life full of excitement and possibility. This has always been the true inspiration behind Purpleheart Art, Vermont and is why I use every opportunity I can to give back.
Though it’s not perfect, I feel fortunate to live in this country.
I wish you all love, happiness, and the freedom to remember those dear to you this Memorial Day.
